Overview
The Vale Long Harbour Processing Plant and the Voisey’s Bay mine and concentrator are an integrated operation being built in Newfoundland. The majority of the construction on this processing plant project involves shell buildings with interior facilities for handling and processing materials. In addition to nickel, the plant also processes cobalt and copper from the ore.
PMA Role
PMA conducted periodic project risk reviews of cost forecasts and CPM schedules in preparing independent forecasts based on probabilistic techniques aka quantitative risk analysis. This included providing a detailed review of the project schedule, developing a schedule risk model, and performing a probabilistic analysis to determine likely project completion.
