The Superbay Hangar located at San Francisco International Airport was built in the 1970’s and can simultaneously house four Boeing 747s to support maintenance for the wide-body fleet. The $38 million Superbay Hangar Fire Suppression System Replacement Project consists of replacing the existing fire suppression system with a new hybrid high-expansion foam and fire sprinkler system. It also includes new fire sprinkler systems for office and other occupied spaces, structural upgrades necessary for the installation of the new system, and necessary upgrades and replacement of all utilities related to the system to support the project and the surrounding area.
