The $20 million San Francisco International Airport tenant improvements project involves upgrades to approximately 150,000 square feet of existing cargo facilities at buildings 900 and 944, extending their useful life and to meeting the latest building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability requirements, and airport design standards for future cargo tenants in an effort to support use by multiple tenants. In order to achieve this, modifications and upgrades to the existing building systems—including tenant wiring closets and special systems rooms, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire protection roofing systems, elevator systems, and security systems— were necessary. Project scope for Cargo Building 944 includes developing existing cargo buildings to meet the airline’s demand for efficient, state-of-the-art cargo facilities to ensure that the airport can aid in the efficient movement of goods and material throughout the region.
