This $2 billion dollar project completed the extension of the busiest New York City Transit Authority line to the west side of Manhattan. It included the construction of twin rock tunnels, drill and blast construction for the new 34th Street Station, several ventilation shafts, and service buildings. After completion of the structural work, significant finishes and systems contract will fit out the station and install the necessary life safety, rail, power, ventilation, and signaling systems to permit the opening of the new station and tie-in to the existing system.
