Overview
PMA Role
Marriott International elected to terminate the lump sum general contractor and hired PMA to assume the role of Marriott’s onsite construction manager. PMA had previously been serving on the project as Marriott’s owner’s representative and as scheduling consultant. As on-site construction manager, PMA provided comprehensive project/construction management services throughout the project including: coordination of design, construction, and the work of trade contractors; trade contractor administration; implementation of a site-specific Safety and Health Administration Plan; supervision of all facets of field work and site logistics; tracking of project costs and CPM schedule; cost and schedule risk analysis; and facilitation of procurement of a door and hardware installation subcontractor. To keep this project on track, PMA’s Human Resources and IT teams swiftly responded by hiring personnel who previously worked for the former contractor, facilitated a move of the field office, and helped stabilize the project.
