The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) encompasses 122,659 miles of highways, 12,262 bridges, 15 seaports, 779 airports, 31 urban transit systems, and two spaceports. The Department begun a multi-million-dollar, five-year effort dedicated to building a safe, quality, and efficient transportation system to enhance the environment and neighboring communities.
PMA provides Value Engineering (VE) studies and Cost and Schedule Risk Analyses (CSRA) for multiple FDOT projects. VE and CSRA are the systematic processes used by a multidisciplinary team to improve the value of a project by identifying and analyzing functions, risks, and uncertainty. In the case of a VE study for this contract, the program administration is broken into the following key processes: project selection, team selection, value engineering study, recommendation resolution, and reporting. PMA conducted VE studies that follow FDOT procedure and the SAVE International recommended job plan, which consists of selecting the project, following the five-phase methodology, making an oral presentation, delivering timely draft and final reports, and implementing accepted recommendations. PMA has performed over 15 CSRA for projects throughout Florida totaling over $27 billion dollars.
