The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) continuing capital improvement program has an aggregate value of over $2.2 billion and a portfolio of large and complex projects at the largest single-site wastewater treatment plant in the United States. Projects have included a new 240-mgd water treatment plant, the largest biosolids dryer facility in North America, as well as pumping stations, five major CSO facilities, and a wide variety of other projects.
