Overview
The $120 million water supply and distribution system project in Curve Lake addresses quantity and quality concerns regarding the community’s raw water supply. Studies concluded that the groundwater is rife with quality issues and cannot meet current water demands. Forecasted growth in residential housing and in the reserve population by the year 2040 also makes it necessary to secure a stable and cost-effective water supply.
PMA Role
Due to the risk and costs inherent in the Curve Lake First Nation water treatment plant and distribution system project, the owner decided to include value engineering (VE) as part of the project delivery process. PMA has completed VE services for the 66% water treatment plant design and distribution system.
