The $1,230 million California high-speed rail project involves the construction of a 60-mile route located within multiple counties and cities in California (i.e., segment CP 2-3 Fresno to Bakersfield.) The project calls for construction of at-grade, aerial, and below-grade sections of high-speed rail; relocation of existing tracks for approximately 5.5 miles; construction of waterway and wildlife crossings; and roadway reconstructions, relocations, and closures. The design-build project objectives include providing environmental benefits, relieving roadway congestion, and spurring economic development.
