The $1.7 billion Bayonne Bridge Navigational Clearance Program raises the vertical clearance of the bridge at the channel from the present value of 150.8 feet to 215 feet at the centerline of the channel. This will help high capacity vessels to pass under the Bayonne Bridge. The main scope of the project includes the construction of new piers, approaches and roadway, and raising the roadway at the arch.
