The $115 million project completely demolished and rebuilt a third of the Ann Arbor Wastewater Treatment Plant and renovated the balance of the plant treatment trains. This 30-mgd plant project is the largest capital project in the city’s history. During construction, the plant remained operational at all times to treat wastewater while demolitions and renovations were taking place. The City of Ann Arbor Wastewater Treatment Plant project won the 2017 American Society of Civil Engineers Michigan section Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award.
