This $8 million Andover Ballardvale Fire Station is a new two-story, 11,383-SF, three-bay facility. The fire station was built adjacent to an existing building and contains a training room, seven dorm rooms, a watch room, kitchen, day room, and support spaces. The project is located on a tight site where construction coordination was critical to ensure safe parking locations, laydown areas, and pedestrian safety during construction.
Located in the Ballardvale historic district, the building was designed to be cohesive with the look of the existing homes. During all phases of design, the Town, PMA, and the architect included the Andover Preservation Commission as part of their working group to complete the new facility’s design.
