Peter Emrich HeadshotPeter Emrich is a Senior Associate with PMA’s Boston Team. Peter served in the Navy as a GMM2 Gunner’s Mate (Missiles) E-5.

Navy Career

Peter enlisted in January of 1969 and was stationed aboard the USS Gridley CG-21 assigned to the western Pacific (mostly Vietnam.) During this time, Peter was responsible for operating and maintaining guided missile launching systems. After his service, Peter went to work as a technical consultant to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Arlington, VA, later serving as a program manager.

Transferrable Skills & Knowledge

Peter believes that his service time is highly relevant to the tasks he performs every day at PMA. His first experience with computerized budgeting and scheduling was during ship overhauls. That experience led him to become a Navy program manager where he learned about the formal process of project controls, procurement, and federal budgeting, eventually leading him to various consulting roles in the Department of Defense. He successfully applies these same skills to commercial construction projects today.
