Between Ann Arbor’s Old West Side and its vibrant downtown stands a vintage two-story building that is PMA’s first independent home. Opening its doors in August 1982, the offices at 226 West Liberty Street house staff from the Administration, Accounting, Contracts, Human Resources, IT, and Corporate Marketing Departments and serve as a hub for the company’s CEO. PMA Ann Arbor has overseen the origination of NetPoint®, an interactive scheduling software, as well as many innovative publications in scheduling and project delivery. The culture in this downtown university-city office is friendly, collaborative, and industry-progressive, befitting its location in one of the nation’s premier college towns.

Serving as the main resource for all PMA regional offices, the PMA Ann Arbor team provides auxiliary and corporate support for completing procurement documents, forms, registrations, and many others. Resources from HR to Contracts, as well as Graphics to Accounting, keep company information and staff current in processes and procedures and assist in pursuing and winning contract opportunities.

Dr. Gui is recognized as one of our nation’s foremost planning and scheduling subject matter experts. His broad professional experience includes executive and senior roles as investor’s developer, program manager, construction manager, and EPC contractor planner/scheduler.

Dr. Gui led PMA for over 50 years as its founder and CEO,  He continually pioneered innovations in project management throughout his career. He has written widely on the use of CPM in construction contracts and schedule, delay, and acceleration analysis. His recent work with the Graphical Path Method (GPM®) is revolutionizing planning and scheduling at a level not seen since the advent of critical path methods.

Core Traits of a Reliable Schedule

As the primary author of the Core Traits of a Reliable Schedule, Dr. Gui endeavored to codify the essential elements of a reliable schedule into a comprehensive protocol. The Core Traits of a Reliable Schedule contemplates CPM and GPM schedules, and further highlights that a comprehensive, credible, well-constructed, and controlled (seen as the four corners of a reliable schedule) schedule captures the notion of a great schedule. This work is a must-read/must-have for professionals aspiring to great schedules.

Construction Claims

Dr. Gui is a project management inventor (patents pending), most notably of the Graphical Path Method (GPM®), a new millennium alternative to the critical path method (CPM). He has written numerous papers and authored and published the Guide to the Forensic Scheduling Body of Knowledge. Dr. Gui has been admitted as an expert in construction management, project management, standard of care, contracting, cost/schedule analysis, and forensic scheduling in federal and state courts, before AAA and ICC panels, and administrative boards.

•Jerry Klanac

Jerry Klanac

Managing Director, Ann Arbor

Jerry oversees the PMA Houston office, as well as the company’s global oil and gas practice. He has extensive project management experience for US and international construction projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, infrastructure, and water/wastewater sectors. He has consulted on projects with a cumulative value of more than $38 billion. Jerry has significant expertise in providing project cost and schedule controls, developing and analyzing CPM schedules, developing and reviewing conceptual and definitive cost estimates and tools, providing probabilistic analyses, assessing construction labor productivity, evaluating change orders and claims, developing project management processes, and preparing contract strategies. Jerry is also an accomplished trainer. He is currently a part-time faculty member at the University of Dayton. He has lectured at the Project Management Institute, the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo Innovation Center, and has provided training for numerous private clients’ staff.

As Chief Administrative Officer, Kirsten oversees the offices of Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting, Administration, and Talent Acquisition. She also manages all facility aspects of PMA regional offices, including market research, designing and planning office space, coordinating contract negotiations, and managing the construction of office build-outs. A LEED-accredited professional, Kirsten is passionate about green building technology and bringing talented people to solve construction challenges.

Bryan Ritch

Director of Marketing, Plymouth

As Director of Marketing, Bryan directs corporate initiatives for brand management, marketing resources development, and lead generation programs. He is a professional services and software product marketing leader with extensive experience in marketing strategy, campaign development, lead generation, digital marketing, and marketing automation. He provides expertise and insight into marketing and sales system integration, including Sales Force, Pardot, HubSpot, SEMrush, Mail Chimp, and Deltek. Bryan began his career with PMA as a graphic designer working on information application systems for major infrastructure agencies designing the graphical user interface for the application while applying industry standard Web design and programming.

Sejal Brownlee

Director of Human Resources, Ann Arbor

Sejal serves as PMA’s Director of Human Resources (HR) and leads corporate HR Department activities for PMA offices nationwide. She oversees employee relation issues; manages and administers employee benefits; stays current on changing regulations and requirements affecting HR; and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and reporting. Sejal is proficient in corporate communications, resource management, and leadership skills and provides recommendations and feedback to senior leadership.
