Insights

The imperative for organizational transformation cannot be overstated in the dynamic landscape of modern business, which is characterized by disruptive technologies, heightened global competition, and evolving consumer expectations. This process demands a comprehensive understanding of strategy, culture, operations, and technology and an acute awareness of societal shifts. Recognizing the complexity of this endeavor, many organizations turn to trusted partners like PMA to guide them through this journey.

While many of the general principles of business transportation remain the same across the board, each industry and client has its different needs. In the transportation world, PMA designed, developed, and is leading the implementation of a program management office for Massport to reach net-zero by 2031. To achieve this, they have taken measures such as developing the workplan and governance structure, establishing a baseline of current emissions and integrating it into the investment plan, and developing an approach and roadmap. Additionally, our business transformation experts lead the kickoff, as well as recurrent efforts and initiatives; run the steering committee; and prioritize initiatives and execution tracking.

At the same time, PMA developed and implemented a program management office for a pharmaceutical company’s $100 million yearly capital investment. Here, our team developed the financial model, governance, controls, and forecasting processes. PMA also partnered with the client’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, and business operations leadership to implement the new structure, establish forecast and cashflow metrics, and increase reliability of the investment planning cycles.

Because business transformation is always driven by the need to align with evolving market dynamics, technological advances, and changing customer preferences, what that looks like in practice varies in every situation. Unlike superficial adaptations, business transformation involves strategic overhauls that redefine an organization’s mission, vision, and operational paradigms, which can be daunting for many leaders to undertake. To aid in this process and better take stock of your organization’s needs, our PMA experts give insight to the current world of business transformation.
